Reflections recording finishes | 28.4.2009
Firstly in Pilsen's studio Avik (25th - 26th March) and then in Prague's studio B69 the band was working together with the sound master Pavel Brom on the recording of Reflections album. We were working with Mellotron instrument, analog synthesizer Polymoog and symphony timpano. The band a big range of songs, but only ten of them are gonna be on the album:

Recording update | 18.3.2009
Because of the illness of Pavel Brom, our sound engineer, was the last recording session interrupted after two days. RBB will continue in recording of Reflections album in these days - 25.-26.3. in Pilsen studio Ex-Avik. The album should be released by the autumn of 2009!
ZERO FOR EVER on COMPILATION | 5.3.2009
Song Zero For Ever from album Music Must Change will appear on an international compilation Rock 4 Life International volume7. CD will be promoted in an international press and broadcast. It will be possible to buy this CD via Amazon or iTunes. We'll inform you about the date of release. In these days is the booklet for CD being printed.

REVIEW: Red Baron Band - Music Must Change

In several previous reviews I've introduced a number of foreign rock albums and now it's time to see what's going on at the rock scene at home. Even though we must go two years or so back in time, trust me, this short journey definitely won't be pointless. On the contrary, many foreign rock bands could learn from RED BARON BAND.
Firstly I must compliment the whole album design. If you weren't lucky enough to come across this two-year-old record, get ready for pleasant graphic design of the booklet, pressed CD and good sound. "Music Must Change" offers all this. Besides - and this is in my opinion the most important fact - it brings forty five minutes of quality rock music oscillating between blues rock and hard rock. During the given footage, the gentlemen play uncompromisingly (hear the opening "Remedy") as well as technically well, which shows at the end of the song "Here Comes the Night" - a real treat for fans of instrumental passages. Since I feel like pointing out extremes on this disc, I would like to mention that "Music Must Change" offers both, shorter songs under three minutes in length such as "Pictures From The Highway" which is one of the nicest things on the whole record, and long pieces, such as ten minute long "Brother". The album gives what you are looking for: fast and slow songs, riffs and all that good hard rock should offer. But I haven't finished yet! Classic rock music quite often includes brass instruments (trumpets, saxophones, etc.), which vitalizes the music of RED BARON BAND and elevates it beyond common rock bands.
An individual chapter is singing. Mirek Jech has a perfect gravel voice. Regular readers of rock music reviews could add a postscript "…which goes together with the music like scotch and soda". Mirek sings confidently and, in my opinion, has no competition at our rock scene. Besides, this could apply to the whole RED BARON BAND. Having heard their last album, they seem to me the best hard rock band in the Czech Republic. Their power rests in their ability to neatly join their playing and composing skills with precise technique here and carefree effortlessness there.
Well, if you feel that our hard rock scene has nothing to offer, you are wrong. Get this CD and soon you will be convinced of the opposite. To sum it all up, I hope RED BARON BAND will release their new album soon. In the meantime I'm gonna kill time listening to "Music Must Change".

We are happy to anounce that after one year, when our band was used to play with four members, is about five members now! Great keyboard player Mikuas Cimbura just joined the band. Working on some new concert stuff, where you will be able to hear songs from all three albums and also some of the songs we haven't played for a long time - just like: Like A Fool, Here Comes The Night or I'm Gonna Be Your Star. First chance when to see RBB's extended line-up is on 30th May in LD Kbely, where we are gonna play with the band Prague Selection 2 - we'll be playing there for more than one hour.

The band is working on an extended playlist .... So after long time we are playing at our rehearsals following songs: I'm Just A Liar (The First Album), I'm Roller, Get Out (In The Light), also our basic song Brother (Music Must Change) and our absolute newie is the song Invisible Band. Most of them you will have a chance to hear at our shows in March already, which we are going to play together with English blues band DANNY BRYANT´S RED EYE BAND.

Mellotron FX Console | 11.1.2008
It's not long time when our band acquired original and rare instrument Mellotron FX Console, which is almost the same as model MKII. This rare instrument was made by the company Streetly Electronics from England. There was just only 60 instruments made in the later sixties and we own that one with serial number 39! The sound of Mellotron you can hear in some songs of The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Yes and many others. As we know there is just only one Mellotron in CZ so our next album will be the first Mellotron's one here in CZ.

Reflections recording finishes | 28.4.2009
Firstly in Pilsen's studio Avik (25th - 26th March) and then in Prague's studio B69 the band was working together with the sound master Pavel Brom on the recording of Reflections album. We were working with Mellotron instrument, analog synthesizer Polymoog and symphony timpano. The band a big range of songs, but only ten of them are gonna be on the album:

Because of the illness of Pavel Brom, our sound engineer, was the last recording session interrupted after two days. RBB will continue in recording of Reflections album in these days - 25.-26.3. in Pilsen studio Ex-Avik. The album should be released by the autumn of 2009!

Song Zero For Ever from album Music Must Change will appear on an international compilation Rock 4 Life International volume7. CD will be promoted in an international press and broadcast. REVIEW: Red Baron Band - Music Must Change

In several previous reviews I've introduced a number of foreign rock albums and now it's time to see what's going on at the rock scene at home. Even though we must go two years or so back in time, trust me, this short journey definitely won't be pointless. On the contrary, many foreign rock bands could learn from RED BARON BAND.
Firstly I must compliment the whole album design. If you weren't lucky enough to come across this two-year-old record, get ready for pleasant graphic design of the booklet, pressed CD and good sound. "Music Must Change" offers all this. Besides - and this is in my opinion the most important fact - it brings forty five minutes of quality rock music oscillating between blues rock and hard rock. During the given footage, the gentlemen play uncompromisingly (hear the opening "Remedy") as well as technically well, which shows at the end of the song "Here Comes the Night" - a real treat for fans of instrumental passages. Since I feel like pointing out extremes on this disc, I would like to mention that "Music Must Change" offers both, shorter songs under three minutes in length such as "Pictures From The Highway" which is one of the nicest things on the whole record, and long pieces, such as ten minute long "Brother". The album gives what you are looking for: fast and slow songs, riffs and all that good hard rock should offer. But I haven't finished yet! Classic rock music quite often includes brass instruments (trumpets, saxophones, etc.), which vitalizes the music of RED BARON BAND and elevates it beyond common rock bands.
An individual chapter is singing. Mirek Jech has a perfect gravel voice. Regular readers of rock music reviews could add a postscript "…which goes together with the music like scotch and soda". Mirek sings confidently and, in my opinion, has no competition at our rock scene. Besides, this could apply to the whole RED BARON BAND. Having heard their last album, they seem to me the best hard rock band in the Czech Republic. Their power rests in their ability to neatly join their playing and composing skills with precise technique here and carefree effortlessness there.
Well, if you feel that our hard rock scene has nothing to offer, you are wrong. Get this CD and soon you will be convinced of the opposite. To sum it all up, I hope RED BARON BAND will release their new album soon. In the meantime I'm gonna kill time listening to "Music Must Change".

We are happy to anounce that after one year, when our band was used to play with four members, is about five members now! Great keyboard player Mikuas Cimbura just joined the band. Working on some new concert stuff, where you will be able to hear songs from all three albums and also some of the songs we haven't played for a long time - just like: Like A Fool, Here Comes The Night or I'm Gonna Be Your Star. First chance when to see RBB's extended line-up is on 30th May in LD Kbely, where we are gonna play with the band Prague Selection 2 - we'll be playing there for more than one hour.

The band is working on an extended playlist .... So after long time we are playing at our rehearsals following songs: I'm Just A Liar (The First Album), I'm Roller, Get Out (In The Light), also our basic song Brother (Music Must Change) and our absolute newie is the song Invisible Band. Most of them you will have a chance to hear at our shows in March already, which we are going to play together with English blues band DANNY BRYANT´S RED EYE BAND.

Mellotron FX Console | 11.1.2008
It's not long time when our band acquired original and rare instrument Mellotron FX Console, which is almost the same as model MKII. This rare instrument was made by the company Streetly Electronics from England. There was just only 60 instruments made in the later sixties and we own that one with serial number 39! The sound of Mellotron you can hear in some songs of The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Yes and many others. As we know there is just only one Mellotron in CZ so our next album will be the first Mellotron's one here in CZ.
